Food Banks…

Gonna get serious for a sec.

There are so, so, so many reasons why some people don’t have the money to feed their kids - and I can guarantee non of them are the kids fault. Most of them aren’t the adults fault either.

I give my photography and videography to my local food bank (The Welcome Centre), I call it a Skills Donation.

Last time I was in I was told about someone needing one meal. Just that nights tea for their two kids. They didn’t ask for themself. Their monthly wage wasn’t due until the next day.

Asking for help takes courage. You need strength to admit you need help. You have to swallow your pride.

I have the upmost respect for people who can put others needs above their own.

That’s what the parent did that day…

That’s what so many parents are having to do more and more, it’s heartbreaking. Everyones circumstances are different.

Like so many food banks up and down the U.K. the Welcome Centre have broken all their records since the pandemic hit, helping more people than ever.

Giving out around 35 thousand meals in April alone.

Which is well over a thousand meals a day.

If you normally buy a coffee or two in a week, well there might’ve been a couple of weeks where you didn’t because of lockdown - consider donating that money to your local food bank or just text the word: SHOPPING to 70085 to donate £3 to The Welcome Centre in Huddersfield.

If you can spare a few quid, you’ll help to make a very real difference to very real people who just need a temporary hand up.

I didn’t mean to wang on - but this stuff is really important, thanks for reading… and don’t forget to smile :-) x
